Overview

A Seattle retailer wanted brighter, more efficient lighting without closing the store. We retrofitted the entire 4,000 sq ft floor to LED and re-circuited the sales area over three overnight shifts, so the space was ready for customers every morning.

The challenge

Dated fluorescent troffers were dim, uneven, and expensive to run, and the store couldn't afford daytime downtime during a retrofit. Several circuits were also overloaded from years of ad-hoc additions.

What we did

Working overnight, we swapped fixtures for high-CRI LED panels and track heads, rebalanced the lighting circuits, and added dimming zones for the display windows. All work was inspected and signed off before reopening.

Results

  • Lighting energy use cut by roughly 60%
  • Even, high-CRI light across the entire sales floor
  • New dimming zones for window and feature displays
  • Zero days of lost business — all work done off-hours
